Why we work to “Fill the Gap”

Operation American Pride, Inc. started off sending packages to our men and women serving in harms way.  This work continued for approximately one year until it all changed one day when we met a young paraplegic soldier.

After talking to the soldier for awhile, we both realized that we had to do more to help our veterans.  After researching the need at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, we signed up with the hospitals Social Workers to assist when needed.  This action gave us the connection to begin “Filling the Gap” for our veterans.

Michael and Deborah Whitt created Operation American Pride, Inc. Michael is a retired Army veteran and after twenty years active duty to our country, he has another twenty-four years in professional service to the Department of Defense.

Deborah Whitt retired from the Department of Defense with twenty plus years of service.  Deborah was first associated with the military through her father who is retired Army.  Deborah also supported Michael through his career of supporting our country.
